In The Beginning

In The Beginning

Me

Arriving back in Stockholm and standing on the scales was somewhat of a surprise as I thought I had not only lost weight but was keeping it off. Sad to see that I was in fact back to square one again weighing the same as I did last year when I got back from Kuwait. I am currently 6-7 Kg over my ideal weight of about 93 Kg so this year I am making a renewed effort to keep the weight off. I am keeping an HONEST food diary so I can see exactly what I am eating and be truthful to myself and also give primarily my wife a chance to point out my failings

So here goes, lets hope that I reach my goal

Comment Are you still honest is what I want to kmow? Would your family be proud of you for telling the truth OR ...are you FIBBING! Woooooooooooo IF what you say is true. I would say you are doing rather well. Depends if you are loosing weight or not I guess. If you over cook your veg then you won't loose weight. BEER.....BEER is bad! Guiness has 210 calories per pint! It is one of THE lowest beers for calories. A man's intake of calories per day should be 2006 calories a day to maintain your weight. Thats not even to loose weight. Just to maintain what you have now. Add to that the fact that you cycle to and from work then you will loose some weight but it will be slow and too many boozy beverages will make it a whole lot faster to put on than take off. COMMENT TODAY: BEER is FATTENING as is all alcohol. Have a glass of dry white or red wine. If you want to be really good have a Spritzer! Wine mixed with water. Tomorrow's dinner Potato stew... onions garlic tomatoes fresh and tinned ketchup a stock cube 4 potatoes large or more if you want to make an extra lot.... cut onions and crush a garlic clove... peel and thinly slice potatoes... cook onions in olive oil as usual...... Add potatoes and tomatoes and bullion put enough water to cover the potatoes add a large spoon ketchup allow it all to cook until potatoes are a bit mushy and water has evaporated enough to make it 'stewish'.....add salt ony if needed. serve as a stew and accompanying it should be any vegetables you have at home like a salad or cabbage brocoli etc. NO bread. Salad would be best with crunchy veg and dont have too large a portion. Love Susie PS I think you doing great! 1. cu

Comment Lentil soup Curry powder 3tsp onions x2 large garlic x1 clove half lemon veg bullion x1 or 2 lentils (green and orange/red) two cups carrots cut very small bay leaves black pepper Fry onions and carrots gently until shiney NOT brown add curry powder add two bay leaves add lentils and six cups of water (more if requited later) Leave to cook untill lentils are very soft. Check regularly as lentils will tend to lower to bottom and burn. Especially as water evaporates during cooking. Add more water if required but it should be thicker rather than too thin. Serve after having in some lemon slices added to soup bowl A variation to this....on another occaision is to leave out the curry powder and add potatoes cut into smaller pieces.
